In reaction to the demand for locally sourced PPE due to the COVID pandemic EAG member Key Plastics has started manufacturing fully certified face-shields. You can read their press release below:

In response to the ongoing demand for a more sustainable supply of locally manufactured PPE, Key Plastics have developed a re-usable and fully certified full-face visor.

The “Key Shield” is fully Certified to EN 166, CE Compliant and is strong, durable, offers complete facial protection, and crucially, can be de-contaminated by washing or sterilization and re-used time and time again.

The Key Shield design is both environmentally and commercially attractive and will greatly reduce the environmental impacts of the disposable face visors currently in use world-wide.

Another advantage is the attractive cost of ownership of the Key Shield, the cost benefits are quickly realized when compared against the ongoing cost of disposable face visors.

Ciaran Downes, Engineering Director at Key Plastics, said: “We are tremendously proud of the whole team here at Key Plastics who worked day and night over a number of months in development , manufacture, testing and certification of the Key-Shield”

Located in Bray, Co. Wicklow, Key Plastics is a single destination solution provider offering custom manufactured solutions in metal and plastics to industries such as aerospace, medical, telecoms and engineering.
