The Paris Airshow 2025, showcased the dynamic and fast-evolving nature of our industry, with some exciting announcements and a wave of impressive advancements on display across the aerospace sector at large. The event proved to be an important week for our cluster members in attendance, who engaged in some meaningful conversations, and proudly represented the Irish aviation industry on a global stage. T&T Precision, Takumi Precision Engineering, Shannon Precision Engineering, DPF Engineering & Dawnlough were in attendance throughout the week from the group.

Our member companies were quite active throughout the week with Gerry Reynolds, Founder of Takumi Precision & Vice Chair of the Emerald Aero Group, attending the Aviation Pioneers Dinner in the Irish Embassy in Paris, which was hosted by H.E Mr.Niall Burgess, Ambassador of Ireland to France. The exclusive evening was one that celebrated leadership and innovation in aviation.

Future Mobility Campus announced their report, ‘Skyward Bound’, outlining the opportunity for advanced air mobility in Ireland, which comes via ‘the country’s role as a pioneer in aviation, existing foundations in air mobility, and geographic attributes, paired with eager innovators and a robust R&D ecosystem and supportive governing and regulatory bodies’ (Future Mobility Campus). The announcement of the report comes in the aftermath of the US-based, electric aviation pioneers BETA TECHNOLOGIES debuting their ALIA CTOL, in Shannon, who partnered with FMCI for the first fully electric flight in Irish history.

The airshow was eye opening as Airbus by secured roughly $10–21 billion in orders (about 142 firm commitments), including major deals with AviLease, Riyadh Air, LOT, ANA, and VietJet. Meanwhile,

Airbus announced their landmark haul of 238 new aircraft on day 1, which included A350 F’s, A350-1000s, A320neo family jets, and A220s. The announcement was an important one for the Irish landscape given the impact it will have on the our aerospace sector including aftermarket needs benefitting Irish MRO firms, along with our advanced aerospace supply chain firms covering composites, avionics, and precision components seeing new growth opportunities as a result. In Northern Ireland, Airbus’s acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems Belfast operations ensures continued A220 wing production and secures thousands of manufacturing jobs. LOT Polish Airlines placed a firm order for 40 Airbus A220s (20 A220‑100s and 20 A220‑300s) at the 2025 Paris Air Show, with options to expand to 84 aircraft. Since the A220’s wings are manufactured in Belfast, this large order helps bolster Northern Ireland’s aerospace supply chain and sustains high-skilled jobs in the Irish manufacturing landscape, reinforcing its role in Airbus’s long-term production ramp-up.

The announcement of the deals in Paris reinforce Ireland’s strategic role across leasing, manufacturing, and high-value aviation services in the global aerospace ecosystem. Emerald Aero Group cluster members are poised to support aircraft manufacturers on the strong orders with capability, capacity, and expertise.
